  • I love photographs. I just do. And I love making people laugh. So that is what I do, I take photographs and I make people laugh. I don't strive to make my clients look like someone they aren't, or photoshop an image into something that isn't real. I don't want my images to look like those in a magazine because the people in magazines don't even look like those people. And that's fake, and who want's to remember fake? I want Real. Authentic. Emotional. Happy. And in the moment.

My clients aren't clients, they may start that way but they become more, they become my friends, my families, and a part of my life, And I love that. It's what I want. My clientele is a exclusive group, we have a special dynamic and that is what we capture. We would love to have you join us.

i finally after two years of working on my photography bucket list I finished. With the help of the most awesome farrar family! last week i was a fly on the wall for the awesomely awesome process of adoption. it was such a fun thing to watch as a family grows, wither it is because a little baby arrives or a 4 year old… the idea of people opening their heart to little itty ones, makes my heart swell with pride to be human. to be honest I would have been pretty okay with this family adopting me… just sayin’  (as long as I could have my own room and they don’t mine a “large child” jumping on their couch.

Oh, how i love working with children.

even when they don’t want to be well, they are mildly hilarious.

HOWEVER, they can be quite difficult to photograph especially if they are moving around.

so mommas, photographers, hobbyist I want to share a little trip i have learn with ya’ll. Start sitting.

yup, that’s it. Have your new little best friend cop a squat and then you do the same.

And sit. I have found that starting with these are the easiest way to become friends with them.

It is also the best way to get the face dead on doe those full face shots that parents love.

Here are a few of the kiddos from the last few months and I started with sitting at the beginning of each of these sessions.

Works. almost. every. time.

5 tips for Posing Siblings.

One of my favorite things in the whole world is posing siblings.

They are just so darn cute and when you get that shot you feel like you could conquer the world (I am Sparta!!).

Whatever the dynamic it is always fun to watch how they interact at a session,

this leads me to this blog post on posing siblings.

  1. The siblings should be touching. Holding hands, arm around each other shoulder to shoulder. Something, but touching.
  2. Use the natural dynamic of the children. If the children are close have them hug, be cheek to cheek get them really close.
  3. If they are not, try turning their backs to each other, or side-by-side, they will look like a cohesive unit without making them step in to this weird awkward zone.Don’t “push” a pose, they will end up fight you on it, and then mom and dad will get upset and then next thing you know its like ww3 in the middle of the park.
  4. If one is fussy let them sit, stand, whatever, however they would like and then pose the others around that one child. Do not fight or try to convince a four year old who has dug their heels in to do what you want them to, they are just going to become more stubborn and you might as well put your camera away at that point.
  5. When the sibs are all positioned make sure that they don’t all have the same hand and leg positioning. Having the same is great but it doesn’t make for an interesting picture (that is not to say that there can’t be artistic license to this, but as a rule.)
  6. Build in a group. Start with the calmest child, position. Then the second… then the third…with the most…antsy… one last. Use mom or dad to help position this last child so that you are ready with your camera to capture the image that will hang on their wall for years to come

There will be more to come but for now,

go make some memories and don’t forget the camera.

What to tell your clients to wear this FALL.

For photographers | Dallas | laurie endsley photography

Kinda a see my clients and a kinda “for photographers” type post.

With the holidays coming up it is FAMILY SEASON for photographers.

And my clients rock my socks at color combinations and just general cuteness.

 DSC_0509

For example, these families… oh. My goodness.

Each Momma/wife/lady of the house  nailed the color combinations here.

See how they match and coordinate but aren’t overly “matchy-matchy?”

When we discussed her session we talked about location and clothing for our event and she ran with it coming up with this awesomeness.

2014-09-29_0001

You want colors what complement each other but don’t mute each other. If you are like me then your eyes just glazed over and you Go for a safe color combination without any pep. Whoa!

2014-01-08_0001

There are some easy ways to determine what you should wear.

  1. Look around your house and see what you like, what colors you like together.
  2. To the Pin boards!!! I have a pin board called color, and I

direct my clients there when they have questions about what to wear.

Why not just have a what to wear board?
Because this allows clients to use their imaginations, and not feel like there is a formula of articles of clothing.
3. Look at what colors occur together in nature. Look at what God put together and use it as inspiration.

Hoped this helped and happy Monday!!
